Rugd1022
A scanned photo obviously but I couldn't resist - look closely and you'll see 'Dipstick', one of two depot cats at Old Oak... Continuing with the same theme...

RMweb Gold Metr0Land Posted December 15, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 15, 2017 (edited) Let's break the deadlock..... Last Sunday the Llanelli and Mynydd Mawr Railway ran their first Santa trains (one day only) over a short length of track. At least there wasn't much time to to ask 'are we nearly there yet?' Restored Sentinel shunter in Hanson colours and exBR brake van. Another Santa train perhaps? Edited December 15, 2017 by Metr0Land
cal.n
A Santa Special at the Caledonian Railway hauled by Thomas - 'generic blue 0-6-0 loco, any resemblance to any character from Rev Awrdy's famous works is purely coincidental and not intended'. HiT entertainment (the owners of 'Thomas') didn't see it this this way and the '1' on the tank has since been removed as that was their trademark. More santa specials. RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted December 17, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 17, 2017 As Santa seems to be too busy at present to put in any more appearances and as time is running out on 2017, may I offer this wild card and hopefully start a new challenge? Are there any more clocks out there? Preferably interesting old ones but any will do.

eastwestdivide
Three clocks, none of them particularly ornate. His playful installation is based on the iconic Swiss railway clock but here each of the 12 faces shows a single and different numeral. If it's art, all bets are off! He might even have got their agreement, or else the addition of the single numerals gets round the intellectual property issues.
RMweb Premium melmerby Posted December 17, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 17, 2017 I was always puzzled by the logic of these Swiss style clocks where the second hand is driven by a motor and takes 58(?) seconds to go around the clock face and then stops until the minute hand steps on to the next minute. I came across them in the 1970s when visiting a clock factory as part of my job. They were making them, but AFAIK not for the Swiss! What exactly is the point? It seems just like a gimmick. keith
Rivercider
It is not very prominent in this photo, but the Bath Road clock is visible here 37304 and 50047 are among the locos visible, 15/6/82 I assume nobody has called time yet? cheers
