The Cork-Cobh shuttle strengthened to 2 x 2car sets for the arrival of Independence of the Seas 09Sep13 (I used a single 2 car set earlier in the thread but this is different).

Something from the Isle of Man perhaps?

Something on another small-ish* island next?

*Say an island smaller than Ireland.

According to Wikipedia, Ireland is 84,421 sq km, Hokkaido is 83,453 sq.km.

Kushiro is on the eastern coast.

Next - a smaller island..

Cheers,

Mick

I might be slightly bending the rules here, but I had to take my shoes off and wade out to a little rocky island to get a wider shot of 45231 along the line parallel to the coast on the mainland as she approaches Mallaig.

Next, a 1 in 100 or steeper hill

First one the un-named Britannia 70047 heading north up Beattock Bank in 1964.

And then an unknown Class 40 heading south around the same location again in 1964.  Well it was a Type 4 in those days!

What about a picture of your favourite locomotive next?

Erlestoke Manor, (though not the best picture) a wonderful loco that will be withdrawn for its overhaul at Tyseley at the end of the year but will be back in 2020!

Another favourite loco next.

Extremely ropey scan of a contact print of a photo taken on a box Brownie early 1960s. It's at Bingley near the 3 rise locks, probably a Morecambe to Leeds or Bradford train. Note the old Midland warehouse/grain depot on the left. It still stands and now visible on it is the wording proclaiming its Midland Railway origins.

Let's stick with the same theme.

First ones I can find were on a 126 camera in Aug 1978:

and also at Ashford, a line-up including a 4-TC unit

Perhaps continue the "my first train photo" theme for a bit?

The earliest railway photos I have that I took aren't of trains. They were of the remains of the S&DJR's goods shed and wharf at Highbridge, where I lived at the time. Dad was always taking photos of locos and trains, so I assume that I didn't see the need, but I obviously thought that it was worth recording some of the other bits of the local railway history. The end products weren't very good but may provide a few details when I eventually get round to moving my model of the wharf into phase 2 - the railway and commercial parts of the area.

How about the original Deltic at Doncaster in 1959 with A3 60046 Diamond Jubilee in the background?

And next - something with red brick terrace houses in the picture?

Mono photo but those are red brick houses!

Next - An example of a good-looking modern station - post 1970 perhaps - doesn't have to be completely new - a well modernized existing one would do.

Another favourite loco next.

I've driven and fired that loco on an experience day.
