RMweb Premium melmerby Posted October 22, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 22, 2017 (edited) Anything. I'm in a luxury train if I get a 156 instead of a 142 Even a cattle truck would be better! I hate these Pacers, must be the worst passenger vehicles ever on BR. The 141 with it's original ghastly urban bus seats must be the most uncomfortable train I have ever travelled on. If the bumpy ride didn't shake your eyeballs out, the flange squeal will do your teeth in. The buses they were based on have mostly long since departed this earth, fortunately. NorthBrit
My model is very realistic with its bumpy ride and flange wheels squealing. LOL Edited October 22, 2017 by NorthBrit

Keith The 140 prototype was even worse, it was bus width as well so 20% less seats than a 142. They put it on my Moor St - Stratford train when it was on trial. Fortunately after the first day the usual 116 ran to Shirley 5 minutes in front as a relief because the Lucas people from Spring Road going past there couldn't get on, it was F&S from Moor St. .

Liam
For today's theme, how about 'locos hauling stock of a different company'? So that could be a Castle hauling a holiday train of LMS/LNER coaches, a DBS 67 hauling the Welsh Assembly Government train from Cardiff to Holyhead, or as seen here, a Southern Region Bulleid 'Battle of Britain' no. 34053 'Sir Keith Park' on our LNER Gresley set, seen at Bewdley, October 2016. And glad everyone here at the SVR is to see 'Skip' going!

cal.n
37424 (558) after just receiving a token to cross the swing bridge at the Ribble Steam Railway 73966 and 73969 at Fort William with a red stripe Mk2 BSO and TSO(?) Edit: Have just found out I'm lucky enough to be going up the WHL to Fort William behind these, before the Mk5s are introduced (when you can still stick your head out the window). RMweb Premium newbryford Posted October 23, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 23, 2017 (edited) GBRf 66744 on Freightliner HIA wagons at very wet Selside in April 2016. Arcow-Bredbury working When I run a similar GB 66 with HIAs on my layout, it's quite surprising how many "that never happens" comments are made. It "never happened" on a daily basis throughtout most of 2016 and I've seen at least one similar train a couple of weeks ago. And 66519 on EWS wagons. Ramsgreave and Wilpshire, waiting to enter a works possession. November 2014. Quite a common occurrence as Network Rail source the wagons and traction from different FOCs. RMweb Premium newbryford Posted October 24, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 24, 2017 (edited) Something blue. Non-green Freightliner - 66623 "Bill Bolsover" departs Tunstead Works at Great Rocks Jn. September 2011 Kingmoor open day in 2013. Not often photographed ex-BSO escort vehicle - usualy used with the MOD/submarine flask workings. Something borrowed. Hired in 37610 on 6K05 Carlisle-Crewe in August 2011 passing Langho station. This was before DRS took over this duty. This was audibly superb - 1200 Te or so on a 1 in 100 wet rail.
