RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted October 20, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 20, 2017 (edited) The photo below has been before on RMWeb - but not sure if was in this thread. Edit Come to think of it, haven't we done footbridges here before. I have a file of 'footbridges' in my upload folder, which suggests to me that we have done them here before, as I can't think what other thread they would have gone to. cal.n
46233 pauses at Preston with the footbridge visible in the background. Interestingly, I think this was in the middle of the West Coast Ban and it was cancelled and uncancelled to be operated by DB.

Liam
GWR Manor no. 7812 'Erlestoke Manor' passes underneath the footbridge (and also over the barrow crossing) at Highley with the evening diner, May 2015. Can we maybe alter the criteria to include barrow crossings and crossings for livestock?

RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted October 20, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 20, 2017 (edited) How about a footbridge from a footbridge. Taken in 1964 when New Street station was being rebuilt. The footbridge in the picture linked the station with the Bull Ring Centre. The picture was taken from the footbridge steps on the old Platform 9. The train is the southbound 'Devonian', 10.38am Bradford to Paignton, headed by a splitbox Holbeck Peak thought to be D23. RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted October 20, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 20, 2017 (edited) A nice one from Dad's negatives taken at Axminster - The print in his album was cropped down, cutting out most of the bridge. The station was rebuilt 2003/4, when the line to the Algarve was electrified in time for Euro 2004 footy. There was no footbridge before that.
