luckymucklebackit
No, not a photo of Dave's Layout - The real Haymarket Depot on Saturday 24th August 1985. There was an open day at the depot that day, and this was the "out of bounds area" taken from the fence Jim
RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted September 7, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 7, 2017 One from Dad's albums, by his good friend Alan Newman. I have never had any copyright issues raised by any of Dad's fellow photographers, so I shall continue to share their work, while giving them their credits.

RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted September 7, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 7, 2017 Ah, engine sheds. Now some proper ones from the way things were Reading - 54 years ago Oxford in the same year And now a bit more up-to-date, Taunton 53 years ago (with part of the roof conveniently missing to allow photography inside the shed). Good job I didn't get collared or thrown out as a mere 15 years later I was the boss man here! (But of course the shed building and most of the track layout around it had gone by then and we normally only had one loco stabled overnight in the remnant of the shed yard.)

RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted September 7, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 7, 2017 I like these through the years pictures as it shows how things have changed. Keith Thanks for your interest, Keith. I think that is probably the only set like that in Dad's photos. Bristol TM was the nearest big station when we lived in Somerset - in three different places, throughout most of the 50s, 60s & 70s, so Bath Road was the shed he saw most often. RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted September 8, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 8, 2017 Now there's an idea for today's challenge - heritage and preservation workshops - including stock being worked on in the open - not just parked there. One by one of my grandsons this time
