They're there - in the far distance

166211 at Bedwyn on the 08:41 to Paddington on 21-03-13

attachicon.gifDSC06250 DMU 165211 at Bedwyn on the (0841)1K41SX to Paddington on 21-03-13.JPG

Next: Consecutively numbered locos stood side by side in adjacent platforms

Will consecutive DMUs do?

Anyone with a pair of locos with consecutive numbers?

Cheers,

Mick

These are the last 6 locos(ever) to come out of Comeng Brisbane factory

They are a 25 KV electric loco With a Tri-Bo Wheel arrangement on 3'6" Gauge

the pics were taken on the last day I worked at Comeng & the locos are waiting to be taken to Jilalan ,South of Mackay where they went into service hauling coal from the mines to Hay point

The locos at 3281 3284 3282 3283 3285 & 3286

These are a close up of the furthest three in the top pic & may help to see the numbers

The Wagon between 3284 & 3282 is a ELRC(electric loco remote control) & if I remember correctly there was 2 locos at the front & 3 in the middle of the train

The lead loco has locotrol equipment & communicates by radio to the ELRC which is connected to the 3 mid train locos by mu connections

I have other pictures of these locos that I checked to make sure of the numbers

John

Next How about Wild cards until midday Thursday 31-8-17 GMT

Or if you have more than 6 locos, wagons  etc. with consecutive numbers then you chose what is next

I've not posted a picture for a little while so I'll take a wildcard, thanks.

The Turntable at Arthur's Pass in New Zealand's Southern Alps.

The old Locomotive Boilers were apparently used to sure up the river banks when there is Heavy flooding from when the snow thaws therefore helping to protect track work and infrastructure.

Arthur's Pass is on the main East - West line and brings Coal and Timber from the West Coast to Lyttelton Port near Christchurch in the East. It is also the route of The Tranzalpine tourist train. The Otira Tunnel is nearby

Didn't we have a train with a ship in the background a bit earlier? Well here is a bit of a train (a van) with a big bit of a ship in the background. HMS Queen Elizabeth - Portsmouth 29.8.2017

Keep wild-card as suggested above.

If BR used two 350s (08s) to load a ship at their end what did SNCF use at their end?

Yes, two locos running parallel (they're like this to keep things balanced - allegedly, SNCF didn't seem to worry about that on the linkspan)

As a complete Polar opposite to the Shinkansen.

Lets have an old 3'6" gauge Bulk Grain wagon, plinthed at Cunderdin on a small section of the original East / West railway alignment.

The new (since the late 60's anyway) Standard Gauge alignment is several Km to the North

During the 3 years I worked at Comeng we also assembled trams(light rail if you prefer) destined for Kowloon–Canton Railway in Hong Kong

These were made under subcontract to Comeng in Victoria

I found it quite amazing that we in Oz made these trams that were destined for China

post-28417-0-69604900-1504174835_thumb.jpg

Behind the tram is one of the buildings where the 25Kv electrics were Fitted out and tested

There is a traverser behind the tram & the transformer near it fed the 25Kv OH for the test track

The track the tram is on was made from about 50mm square  steel with tags welded to it & bolted to the concrete

The trams are standard gauge & the third rail is 3'6"

A happy passenger! Charlie on 22nd March 2002, but I'm not sure what line it's on. I was in the Peak District earlier that week, and back home in West Somerset two days later, so it could be anywhere!

More wildness.
