37414 passes Conway Castle with a Holyhead service, back in August 1993.

As we are on the theme of 37s, how about a 37 in its 37/0 condition prior to refurbishment? A before and after photo would get you a bonus point!

37412 - BTM.jpg

37412 rests at Bristol Temple Meads with, presumably, a Weymouth train - June 1995

Inevitably, next up should be a Mainline (Blue) liveried 37.

A small diversion if I may? I have a video I shot from a car on the A55 of 37412 between Colwyn Bay and Llandudno Junction, my son was driving by the way. He's made a start on getting the car back on the road this week, it was last taxed in 2003.

Not quite what was asked for but a nice shiny 37, previously preserved I believe?

Therefore as it's no longer working for its original owner is it preserved? If so how about a 47 when they were working on Cross Country services? A further connection with the one above is that 37099 as D6799 would have probably seen use on the York/Newcastle to Bournemouth service

Can't do the after - but I think this fits the bill for before

Oh dear! I've now got to think of a new challenge - let's get up to date with a nice shiny 37 at a preservation diesel day

Nice picture, but not quite what I meant... 37046 remained 37046 throughout its life. What I was thinking of was something like this...

37274 was rebuilt to be 37402 during the refurbishment programme.

Apologies if I was not clear...

In terms of 47s on cross country.

47818 sits at Exeter St David's with a west-bound cross country - June 1994

Pipped at the post!

A Scotrail 47 a long way from Scotland?

post-6831-0-44324700-1496509312_thumb.jpg

The usual suspect - 47706 - passes Eastleigh in about 1994.

How about a cross country service in the hands of a loco other than a 47 - the more unusual the better!

Very old photo of me on a green loco attached to a flour mill in Kent, I believe. Edited to say that a quick check after posting that it was Hodson's Flour Mill at Robertsbridge and it is Ex-SECR 'P' class and BR 0-6-0 tank No.31556.  https://www.flickr.com/photos/12a_kingmoor_klickr/8221673384

Continuing the wheel arrangement theme.

A B0-B0 (or B-B or B0+B0 or B+B) or any other four axle diesel / electric loco.

Cheers,

Mick
