RMweb Gold Phil Bullock Posted May 14, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 14, 2017 Thanks NB - not the best photo but location limited as I had to catch the train - early on a Sunday AM too, had been up to York the previous day to see D1023 up North.... The reason I asked about the photo Johnny is because I wonder if it is the same traffic as in the photo of 40032 - Carlisle - Swindon loaded milks for processing in Swindon, probably came down the S&C to keep such a heavy slow train away from WCML fast traffic Phil
EddieB
Twilight at Sennapos, with 25NC no. 3513 about to restart a Bloemfontein - Bethlehem passenger train in October 1985. Regrettably, I tried to cram too much into that trip - railways and wildlife - and most of my shots are of locomotives on shed. Next - a picture that could be captioned "right away".
RMweb Gold wombatofludham Posted May 14, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 14, 2017 (edited) Not the best but taken in Hamburg Hbf when DB were running the Railway Museum Class 103 and matching stock on the Fridays only "Hanseat" due to a shortage of stock. The driver is awaiting the right away to continue to Flensburg. Forgot to add: if this is OK, then let's have a BR sector era photo from the West Midlands. RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted May 15, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 15, 2017 (edited) Evening Star on display at the back of the Diesel Shed at Tyseley, June 1973. Combined BR and Railway Museum Open Day, not many people in view because Green Arrow and Sir Nigel Gresley were running the shuttles on the Through Sidings at the other side of the site. © C E Steele Next will show an old steam loco 'plinthed' in a public place, not a railway site Edited May 15, 2017 by TheSignalEngineer
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted May 15, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 15, 2017 (edited) Plinthed in the town in Jenbach - former Zillertalbahn. And having got there first how about a diesel hydraulic mainline loco in ordinary public service, ideally on a passenger train. EddieB
Mike - out of interest was that taken since "Raimund" has been re-plinthed in the town, or before it was moved away to a spot near the loco shed? Here we are - a DB class 218 diesel hydraulic on the remote island of Sylt, having crossed the Hindenburgdamm with a regular passenger service. Next - somewhere foreign that shares its place name with somewhere in the UK. Edited May 15, 2017 by EddieB
