RMweb Premium Welly Posted March 21, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 21, 2017 My mate pointed this video out to me on YouTube A chap called Alan Snowdon got a cab ride on a Woodhead train and used his 8mm cine film to capture various passing stations (no continuous cab ride as film was expensive. He put it up with his wife narrating the points of interest. One inaccuracy has already been picked up on and the mystery crossing was identified. I think that is a nice film of the line! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OR6LV5Syzdk&sns=tw
woodenhead
How very lovely, and for the first time I have seen something of the marshalling sidings at Dunford East that must have been almost out of use by then.
RMweb Premium Chris116 Posted March 21, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 21, 2017 A very good film of the Woodhead route. I would recommend checking out some of the other films by Alan Snowdon, they all seem to match the standard of the Woodhead film.
RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted March 21, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 21, 2017 At 6min 32 near Guide Bridge there's a Black 5 with a 16t mineral and a GWR Toad. Unusual to see one in traffic that late and so far from home.
