Maybe tell it that there’s a wagon full of signal equipment arriving shortly and that might encourage this pesky one not to be such a grumpy git. What’s the betting that the train with the signalling items will be given the road so that it doesn’t linger too close. 1 2

Might have to run that past a couple of shop stewards, the RCE and the top S&T chappy 🫣 😁 I thought* the signalling blokes in the 1930's just dug a hole and dropped it in and then yanked on some ropes, Stonehenge style to get it vertical (?). *Sure I read that somewhere, unless I'm having a moment?

Popular Post KNP
Away from the jib talk and back to our excursion train now waiting at the 'pesky' signal. Couldn't make my mind up which of these pictures I preferred so I did what I normally do in these situations and that is post both of them and let you decide.... Ponthir28
For me number two. I think it’s more natural to look up from the ground. But more to the point where are the PANNIERS! 2 5

I tend to agree with you, it looks like I better take a few snaps of some Panniers before to many of you end up with withdrawal symptoms even though I still have dozens of pictures of this excursion train to go........ I'll have a word with the photographer! 6

Popular Post KNP
Back to the yard crane. Whilst some painted signal bits where drying and there was nothing I wanted to what on the telly I decided to have a go at extricating the jib from the supports. As Phil said working from the outside inwards was the way to go but be careful not to cut the wrong part......in this case check twice and cut once was the motto. Where I got these handy small snips from I can't recall, they are old, got from an exhibition, you know one of those stands that has many boxes of tools on display, wish I had brought two now. Got it and with no disasters Just needed some patience and close attention to what you where doing. I was surprised at its strength what I suspect is the braces doing there job just like in real life. Now to decided what to do with the left over rocket tower!!!! 18 2
RMweb Premium Dragonboy Posted September 7 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 7 I’ve tools like that too. Bought years ago in many cases and some have even been used. Others I move occasionally when looking for a tool in the box which in fact turns out to be on the bench all the time

No no no it's one of those avant garde sculptures that you see in squares/plazas/entrances to train stations etc. Meant to represent something ethereal like why can't I open my packet of sandwiches or why is the train fare two and six and I have a nine bob note that sort of thing. 1 2
