Very very nice indeed. Been following LM for yonks now and thought when I saw that post that I don't remember a photo of that building. Perhaps from the very early pages?

Q: Are there other extremities of LM that have escaped attention recently and needs @KNP s camera pointing at again?

What's wrong with Nobby's Nuts?  I love 'em.  But I'd agree that all - and I mean all - other brands are sh*te. Usual disclaimer!

Do they taste better than Uncle Joe's Mint Balls?

60ft to centre spindle of sails, height to top of cap 70ft.

Sails I believe are approx 35ft each giving a span of 70ft.

Based on the one at Quainton but I need to find some dimensions, drawings etc…

If I cannot find any then I will draw some based on the numerous pictures found on the web and a bit of freelance thinking…..’

Thats a big, impressive structure.

If I built that I would have to put it in the North Wing and move the servants out.....!

Where can I buy decent salted peanuts?

Roast your own...

  • Buy 1kg raw, shelled, peanuts
  • Create a salt solution with, say, 1 tablespoon of salt in 1L water
  • Soak the peanuts in the salt solution for about 20 minutes
  • Drain the peanuts
  • Heat your oven to about 200 degrees C
  • Put the drained peanuts in a baking tray
  • Put the tray in the oven for about 23 minutes
  • Remove and cool
