As I have said many times before and that is I use photography as an aid as well so I can see and feel how things are going. It'll be a shame when the house gets built, blocking the view. 1
RMweb Gold Harlequin Posted September 14, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 14, 2022 Hi Kevin, I hope you realise what you've started here... Modellers across the nation will now be ripping up their plants and fixing bigger versions in place every few weeks to simulate them growing. It will be a renaissance for the model scenery industry. 😀 3 1 10
KNP
And today, if you look through the round window, we will be building a chicken coop (or at least starting).......! 🙂 10 1 1
aardvark
Why does a chicken coop have 2 doors? Because if it had 4 doors, it'd be a chicken sedan. 1 3
Popular Post KNP
And believe it or not between the last post(?) and this one a chicken coop was borne Simple construction, four sides and a roof. Card pre- scribed to make it easier A few pre- stained matchsticks and a bit of wriggly tin…. Now to paint. 32

Popular Post KNP
Trip down memory lane. Whilst ferreting around looking for something or other I came across a very pristine envelope and I suddenly remembered what it was. Many years ago I brought some plastic chain link mesh in sheet form. There is my fence for the chicken run but just look at the age….and company??? I have used some pieces but a long time ago!!! Amazing what you find when looking for something else. 21 3

Popular Post MrWolf
It depends on the period and where such animals are kept. Some would have shared rather deluxe brick built stabling with working horses, others would have a simple, but strongly built hut, not like those awful bits of firewood you can buy on eBay. The simplest solution would be a demounted railway box van. The cheapest of which would probably be an old Tri-ang insulfish van. That also has the advantage of looking much older than the vans with corrugated ends. This van (GWR wood Mink) has been used as an improvised feed store for the livestock yard on my as yet unfinished layout. 20 1

Easy way of doing say daisies and in yellow buttercups. I have tried this method and here are my results. I used WWS 6mm autumn static grass, adding some medium green Noch leaves and then dry brushing white acrylic as you described. 9

Shaping up Rob, did you hold the brush flat, or on its side, so it could be dragged lightly just across the tops? But the effect is there isn't it.

At normal viewing distance the white will look more muted I think. 6
