The Goods Yard is now laid, wired and tested, and it works really well I have to say, Running Goods between Much Dithering and KM Goods plus a Pick up Goods as well will make for interesting operation.

To my eye that looks just about right. It also looks a lot of fun.

Mike

Thanks Mike, It's more fun than I first imagined, and there is loads to keep an eye on when Running 2 Trains and Shunting a 3rd.

Andy, should you have double slips in the main line. I admit it is not unknown, but the norm is single slips on main lines and in the trailing direction. Just asking!

Otherwise your layout is full of operational possibilities.

Spot on Derek, and I was hoping no one would notice, the fact is, I had the 2 x D/S in stock and wanted to get on with things, and to wait a few days and then trade them in and buy 2 x New S/S would not have been financially viable.

I'm afraid it's something I have to live with now.

e.g. Pontrilas, entry to the Up Goods Loop and a layout not dissimilar to yours. Still there in late 70's.

Hi Andy,

You look to be having fun with your running session today.  Those sweeping curves through the countryside look wonderful!  Good idea of yours that ;)

Keep up the good work ... oh, and think you might need some sheep for that back embankment ... the grass needs mowing, its changing colour!!!

These pictures look great and fully live up to the vision of diesels sweeping majestically through the countryside.

Plenty of work on this layout to keep you going for years..........

Have fun with the ballasting, hope you have brought some by the barrow load!

Morning Guys, and thanks for all the likes etc.

I'm now more than happy with the running. Today all the Locos will be put away into the vault as were having a mini break from tomorrow until next weekend, and when I return I'll be  concentrating on finishing the wiring, and then making a start on the scenics.

I do have a good supply of Ballast, Flock and Static Grass so there'll be no stopping me then.

Here's a final set of pics from yesterdays running session.

Enjoy the break Andy. There'll be no stopping you when you get back.

Thanks Duncan, once all the Locos are packed away, I'll have more momentum to get on with other things, and NOT run Trains, hahah.

Morning Buddy, You and Dee have a great little holiday, looking forward to some sceanry tips on your return....

Thanks mate, I'll do some step by step shots on some of the scenery jobs, but most are just simply Scatter and Static Flock.

Enjoy the break Andy. Will you be back in time for the GC show?

Hi Andy, it's only a Mini Break and I'll be back Friday, but won't bother with the GCR Event this year.

At £20 it's more than this Old Pensioner can afford, :O  and by the time I've added a breakfast, about 6 cups of coffee and a cream cake or two, it's an expensive day out. hahhaha.
