Ferrari International Assistance?  :jester:

That's a complete contrast to his post race interviews where he wouldn't even acknowledge the incident, let along accept blame or apologise.

One has to wonder whether the Ferrari contract requires him to drive in every race, and if suspended he would be in breach, so money at stake?

Vettel's checklist to emulate his hero:

Be German - Check

Join Ferrari - Check

Win in a Ferrari - Check

Race ruthlessly with questionable moves - Check

Become a villain (especially in the eyes of the Brits) - Check

Win WDC in a Ferrari - ?

Would the fact that Jean Totdt ( ? over bad spelling) having to make the final decision have had an un balanced effect on the final outcome?     surly not, hahha :nono:

Interesting to compare F1's inaction with the swift judgement meted out by the organisers of the Tour de France after the end of today's stage. Peter Sagan, like Vettel, is one of the most exciting performers in his sport - but no competitor (or racing team) should be above the rules.

Not surprising perhaps as the professional cycling world has been hit with several scandals over the last few years such as drug taking and they now want to present a 'clean' image. Having said that Peter Sagan's actions were dangerous in the extreme.

Did F1 underreact, or did cycling overreact?

Both I would suggest...

I would say F1 under reacted.

IMHO Vet should have been Black flagged as soon as they saw that Hammy did not Brake Test or reduce speed.

He should then have been given a 1 Race Ban, and that would have sent out a very clear message to all, in all categories of Motor Sport.

I think a black flag would have sufficed. Maybe a suspended ban in case he pulls any more silly stunts.

Naaaaa Black Flag, Million Dollar Fine, BANNED for a Year, and demoted to McLaren. :O  :sarcastichand:  :sarcastichand:  :sarcastichand:  :rtfm:

It does feel that grid penalties are a slightly unfair way to penalise component changes. Docking constructor points would seem to be a more direct hit to the manufacturers without affecting drivers to the same extent.

And how would this bother those running a Honda engine??? :)

Moot point for them, they're down the back on the grid anyway, so grid penalties make no difference either.

40 place grid penalties make a complete mockery of the system.

I wonder if the collision last time caused a mis-alignment of the gearbox......

The article explicitly says they ruled that out. You imagine they'd be keen to ham it up if there was even the slightest chance of that.

Instead of moaning about how things are right now, why not wait and see how things turn out. Karma has a funny way of working.

Remember how Hamilton had all that bad luck at the start of last year? He rebounded and came within a whisker of winning the title.

Something to think about.

Here we go AGAIN,   Driver suffers and Vettel must be laughing all the way to the Grid. :girldevil: :girldevil: :girldevil:

I think there's a conspiracy. They are sabotaging Lewis car in order to let Rosberg win the title. Oops, sorry, I'm 1 year late.
