RMweb Premium Hilux5972 Posted December 10, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 10, 2016 I like how this is turning in to a 'where's Merl' thread... A celebrity loco is born! And a very well deserved one at that.

Dubloseven
Noticed 37099 parked up in the sidings at Derby this afternoon. Also someone parked up a class 31 in a siding at the end of platform 5. Great to see all these locos still in use. Long may they continue. Regards, Cliff. RMweb Gold big jim Posted January 8, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 8, 2017 as you may be aware Bachmann are releasing 37099 in the main range this year which i brilliant news, i did know about it at the naming ceremony but had to keep quiet about it regards the headlight on 37099, normally with models its a case of getting the tooling right to match the real thing however on 37099 the "car spot light" headlight was swapped for the one you see on the loco as it wasnt possible to tool the original light, also the end number 099 when it was originally painted had 37099 higher up that wrapping slightly round the nose end and that too was changed at as it made the printing of the model a lot more complex/difficult sometimes it really is a case of life immitating art (or models)
RMweb Gold Roy Langridge Posted January 8, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 8, 2017 I will have to buy this one - not my era at all buy having driven it as 37324 at the Mid-Hants Railway it would be rude not to do so. Any excuse will do for me. Roy

ThaneofFife
hopefully Bachmann can achieve the same high gloss paint finish which would really be the icing on the cake.......
