Warspite
Jinty You're really not helping me. There's me trying to concentrate on developing my early '60s ironstone layout and you show these stunning modern image wagons with the most sublime weathering. Must resist, must resist ... Jintyman
Here are another couple of wagons off the workbench. Both Heljan, another ZDA, CIVIL LINK branding removed and the 'Dutch' yellow re-applied with Fox Overhead Warning Flashes. Then there is one of their Class B tanks, 'MOBIL', 'Charrington' branding. Given some moisture spills and traces down the tank sides and then some general road dirt and some spot rusting areas. Both of these vehicles are available if anyone is interested. Jintyman
Well a couple of the Skytrex PCA's fell out of the box they were delivered in today!!! Peartree wheels and Railtec transfers. The bodies aren't fixed on yet and the buffers and couplings have yet to be fitted, but I thought it was worth a pose on the plank! Next is to weather these up as medium dirty examples, straight out of the cement works!!! Jinty

Great work on the PCAs i would like a few myself but skytrex dont show them on their website. Cheers peter. Hi Peter, Contact Dave directly at sales@skytrex.com and he will be able to oblige. I've contacted him to see if they are on-going and he said they will be, but he has to re-do the moulds quite often, so batches could be sporadic. Gazza
Here is a Heljan VAA , just awaiting finishing. I don't normally take pictures until the items are finished, but I thought I'd rescue my thread from way down on page 3!!! So, Heljan VAA renumbered with Railtec transfers over a painted black panel. Repair panels painted on as well as a replacement door in red oxide. Ends and roof yet to do, and I'll try to make up another handbrake lever out of some scrap etch as one side was missing. Here are a few gratuitous pictures: WB 321.jpg WB 322.jpg WB 323.jpg WB 324.jpg WB 325.jpg WB 326.jpg WB 327.jpg WB 328.jpg I will get another set of pictures of the two vans completed together before they go back to their owner at the end of this week. Jinty Hi Jinty what did you use to remove the old data panels on the vans, or did you just black them out. Trying to find what I can use to remove Heljan ones without damaging paint?
Jintyman
Hi Jinty what did you use to remove the old data panels on the vans, or did you just black them out. Trying to find what I can use to remove Heljan ones without damaging paint? Hi Gazza, Simply painted over I'm afraid. I've found it difficult to remove the Heljan printed panels without damaging, or going through to the plastic. I've re-numbered a few by just removing the unwanted numbers by gentle scratching, but even then it's very easy to go through. Jinty

Your weathering skills are beyond question some of the best around, you know I am the first to admit that, but trying to fool us with images of the real thing just isn't cricket. I mean you can still see the wetness of Storm Callum on the ground!! Superb as ever mate ... god help us when you start doing scenery for Talyllyn Rich

Cheers Peter. Hi Peter, Been having a bit of a sort out, I have 6 of the Banana vans, and I certainly don't need that many, so that's why these are going. All the rest are modern image wagons which I've been buying simply to weather, detail and sell. I did the same with the PCA's and now I have a dozen to build and finish!!!! I do like the PCAs I haven't done anything about getting some yet but I will do, they are a nice looking kit. Do they go together well? Cheers Peter. A bit of fettling and trimming required from the moulding process, but other than that, they go together very well! Jinty
