Aldersgate buildings 8 shops in Norton Folgate

Have been up on the roof today….

…the chimneys are a combination of purchased white metal casts and home made pots from plastic tubes with cocktail sticks forced in the bottom end.  The tops of the chimney stacks are from foam sheets and the bodies of the stacks are foam board so the white metal and cocktail stick roots can be forced through to provide a solid connection.

Can't settle on the final form of the back yards so I thing I will leave them until I know where the building will be sited on the final layout.

I realise that I had started topic 9 before really signing off on topic 8.

 

 Well the shops are 95% done and need amongst other things, a few signs and overall wash of dirty white spirit to dull down bright edges etc.  I moved on to Booth's Distillery (topic 9) simply because I was motivated to do it and since these are my toys, if I want to leave something unfinished I will!

Oh yes and I desperately need to sort out the top joining points of the walls.  Looks a little bizarre at the moment.

Belatedly filled in the gaps between side and back walls, still needs to be blended in
