Might however look a bit contrived. Just a thought. Won't work with those buildings. They are corner buildings unless you cut the corners off. Regards Lez. Nick Holliday Posted Tuesday at 06:32 Share Posted Tuesday at 06:32 What about filling the gap with an entrance to a small workshop in a yard behind the pub. I couldn’t find a suitable photo of a prototype but this 1:32 model from Diodump is the sort of thing I mean. 1
The Bandit Posted Tuesday at 07:56 Share Posted Tuesday at 07:56 Sorry, hadn’t considered them being corner buildings. The strong bottle of wine made me suggest it!

Could it lead to a small brewery that also owns the pub? Or is that too much of a modern day thing?
RMweb Gold BobM Posted Tuesday at 16:54 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted Tuesday at 16:54 A complete ‘flip’ could be to use the rear of flats and just a derelict terrace? Bob
andi4x4 Posted Tuesday at 16:57 Share Posted Tuesday at 16:57 Two of those blocks Flats with a narrow passageway/footpath between would look just the ticket in my eyes ! 1
RMweb Gold BobM Posted Tuesday at 17:25 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted Tuesday at 17:25 Hi Adding walls would make courtyard rears to the flats? A 12 foot passageway would be created between the two buildings. Bob
RMweb Gold BobM Posted Tuesday at 18:19 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted Tuesday at 18:19 (edited) Reminds me of the environment and flats overlooking Ranleagh Bridge perhaps? Bob Edited Tuesday at 18:49 by BobM
RMweb Gold BobM Posted Tuesday at 19:31 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted Tuesday at 19:31 (edited) Hi Adjusting the position of the derelict cottage slightly to the right creates a small passageway between it and the flats, also provides credence to the provision of the to be gated emergency access steps to the yard below perhaps? Regards always Bob Edited Tuesday at 19:32 by BobM 5
RMweb Gold lezz01 Posted Tuesday at 19:37 RMweb Gold Share Posted Tuesday at 19:37 I like that last one Bob go with that or move the cottage more to the left a bit and make the gap between the buildings the access point. Regards Lez. 1

RMweb Gold BobM Posted Tuesday at 20:58 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted Tuesday at 20:58 (edited) Hi guys After much deliberation and fantastic assistance ad always from your collective good-selves I hope I have settled upon the backdrop below. The derelict cottage and flats create a scale 12 foot gap with granite sett roadway / access to the steps. The flats will have cobble / broken slab access paths into the small courtyards, where some will have a washing line of smutty sheets etc or similar for interest. The buildings too will require weathering to reflect their grimy environment! Regards Bob Edited Tuesday at 20:59 by BobM 6
Tortuga Posted Tuesday at 22:36 Share Posted Tuesday at 22:36 I like it! I think seeing the rears of houses / terraces back directly onto railway property looks more realistic, especially in the situation you have. Definite shades of Ranleagh Bridge.

RMweb Gold BobM Posted Wednesday at 17:20 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted Wednesday at 17:20 Hi all, I’m contented with the flats scenario, I am musing though about changing the derelict cottage to perhaps something more rear aspect industrial? We’ll see. Regards Bob
