Good evening, everyone. Firstly, many thanks, Steve, for the photo’ of Wressle station. I much prefer the old to the new.

Now, here are some photo’s to enjoy, courtesy of John Turner, Mick Nicholson, Andrew Gallon, Andy Hughes, and Unimog1300L, all on Flickr.

Firstly we have a photo’ of WD "Austerity" 2-8-0 90688 is inspected (possibly a hot box on the tender) as it pauses at Brough with a westbound freight, in c1960. The smoke certainly looks like it is a hot box.

c.1960 - Brough, East Riding of Yorkshire.

Next we see 0-6-0 diesel hydraulic Type 1 Class 14 'Teddy Bear' D9523 in the loop at the Osbaldwick end of the Derwent Valley Light Railway., on the 15th June, 2012.

Bearly There

The third photo’ depicts 37254, due to running 10 minutes late and the unit ready to depart a quick change of position from one end of the platform to the other see's 37254 catching the shadows at Cottingham at the helm of train, 3J51, the 09:50 York Thrall Europa - York Thrall Europa, while 155345 departs working train, 2R95, the 23:43 York - Bridlington, on the 5th October, 2024. Please note the caption error on Flickr. I believe instead of 23.43, is should be either the 11.43 or 12.43 from York.

37254

Finally, here’s a photo’ of 20303 " Max Joule", DRS, near Brough, on a down RHTT, on the 8th October, 2018.

The "smoke" isn't coming from the axle box, as it appears to come from nearer the front of the tender.
