Thanks Neil and Aidan, I have a man coming that BLEEDS SOUTHERN when you cut him open, so I will probably go for that, it will be nice to have something to operate this year instead of doing the Weathering Demos.

Did a little more on WS yesterday in as much as weathering the Engine Shed and toned down the Concrete Hardstanding a tadge, also added some soot to the Bridge whilst the Air Brush was out, I'll pop some more pics up here later.

I'm please as punch to report that West Shed will have its first outing at the Weston on Trent Show on 14th Nov.

This will be closely followed by our own Clubs Mince Pie open Weekend at Church Gresley on the 12th / 13th December.

Cheers Guys, it will be run as West Country Blue Period with Sound fitted 25, 31, 37, 42, 43, 2 x 47's a 52 and possibly a 50. Plus there will be a None Sound 08. I may throw the pair of 20's and a 33 in the box as well.

I've fitted the Chips to the two Warships, (Class 42 and 43) plus the Western, (Class 52) this evening. I have fitted a larger Bass enhanced speaker to the Class 43 and I may fit one to the Class 42 tomorrow as it sounds a little high pitched, and yes they were different engines, the 42 having the Maybach Engine and the 43 a MAN Engine and the difference is amazing.

The Western sounds lovely, I may fit the Class 50 Chip tomorrow and see how that sounds.

More updates tomorrow.

Thanks George and Gary, here's some shots of the little running session I did after fitting the last sound chip into 50035 Ark Royal this morning. With most volumes turned down to 25 its made them really pleasant to have running although I may need to turn some up a bit depending on the noise at the Weston Show, but indoors there spot on.

Many Moons ago I described how, in order to keep WS within the 6ft for Transportation and Storage I added a folding flap for the extra fiddle yard as seen below

Well I've now built a box that hangs below the Flap for the Controller to sit in.

Hi Andy,

I hope you are going to put a different bus on the bridge if you are exhibiting with blue diesels. Something in a National Bus Company livery might be more suitable, a Bristol RE, or VR, a Leyland Atlantean or Leopard or National, or a Damiler Fleetline.

And your point hand levers are facing the wrong way.

Thanks Clive No other Busses suitable for the West Country, only Stevensons, Midland Red and Barton so it will need to be a Lorry and Cars.

Thanks also for the info on the Point levers, I'll change them around.

You cannot go to an exhibition without a bus on the bridge, it is the law. :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono:

Hi Andy

I haven't posted here before but wanted to say what a great little layout this is, with some nice detail work.

Congratulations on the exhibition invitation.... and a good choice for the motive power.

I've come to the conclusion I'm definitely a closet (blue) diesel hydralic fan....

Cheers

Alan

Although West Shed will be at our Clubs Open Weekend on 12th 13th December I haven't decided what I'm running yet, I have the choice of BR / SR Steam, BR / WR Trasission, or BR Blue with Sound.

I may also have a couple of Show invites in the offing for 2016.

you could do a bit of everything??

Nice idea Johan but with WS the idea is that its no more than 12 Locos that all fit into the two stock boxes, I see some Layouts at Exhibitions with hundreds (maybe not literally) of Locos and Wagons to put out and pack away.

With Glen Roy it was 5 Locos, Two Coaches and about 10 Wagons, easy peasey.

Morning Andy

The West shed looks superb with all those blue diesels on it. I especially like the shot of the 37 appearing under the bridge. Like the innovative solution with the flap to keep the layout to six feet. Good luck with the exhibition. Don't know if I can make it yet it depends on work. Would definitely like to come up to your clubs mince pie event though. Yum Yum!!

Cheers

Marcus

Liking the latest pics Andy,

50035 looks nice I bet it sounds good too.

I am with Marcus on the Mince Pie night though it's a bit of a long way for me to come. I am very tempted though I do love a nice mince pie.

Cheers Peter.

Thanks Peter, I wasn't sure which 50 to put the Sound chip into, the other is Illustrious, and as its Un- Refurbished would have been the more sensible choice, but I don't do sensible, I do it from the heart. Ark Royal was the last Aircraft Carrier my Grandfather worked on before retiring from Devonport Dockyard in the late 50's or so, so it has a meaning for the Layout. As does Class 47 Tamar, I was born in St Budeaux overlooking the Tamar, and Class 47, SS Great Brittan, My late Farther had Lunch on her with the Duke of Edinburgh and many others after being shown around Concorde at Filton just before its maiden Flight.

All good reasons for the Locos, its the same with Bulleid,  Wadebridge.

This morning I've made a holder for the Prodigy Hand set that just clips on the side of the Layout and also sorted out some in period Lorries for the Bridge.

I have also taken the opportunity to do a Video with the Blue Sound stock on the Layout so that's downloading onto the Flip Flop at the moment, I will then EDIT it and transfer it to You Tube so it will be up on here later I hope.
