Evening all, well I've spent an hour or so adding some details around the Yard and in the Shed, I have added Sleepers, Bikes, Bodies, Barrels, Tools on the work bench made from Soldered wire, and a Clock on the wall, (although that's stopped).

Thats great especially seeing the Ford Anglia (my 1st 2 cars were 105es), but shouldn't it be the polce panda version, if they should be looking for the bodies?

Seriously though this is begining to come to life, but I'm a bit worried about the bloke with crosed legs, it does seem to be bent at a rather jaunty angle.

I've just installed some lighting in the Engine Shed.

Firstly I installed a Dapol N Gauge Coach lighting Bar with the Yellow LED's but it wasn't enough to light it properly so then installed a couple of Bulbs, it looks a lot better in real life than in the Photos. The stingy bits hanging down have now removed

I used a plug and socket  and in the pics the Shed isn't bedded down properly but will be once its been weathered.

Very nice mate, the lights have made a big difference...

Cheers George, in reality there no brighter than the Yard Lights, but being up close in the Pics they look really bright.

I've added some more bits this morning such as Point Levers, Fire Buckets, some more bits inside the Shed and more clutter etc. Pics of all that later.

Just a small update with some pics from yesterday, I'm working on both Pencarne and West Shed this morning just doing little bits on each as I think of things.

I've also dirtied the Pits as they were far to clean, (also noticed in the pics that the Head Code is coming off the Western)

None, if the coaling, watering, ash disposal and petrol pumps are the other side of the bridge then any exit signals would be the other side of them. All movements around loco depots were co-ordinated by the depot staff and done under hand signals. All points would be hand operated.

Like goods yards, once the engines were off the mainline they were contained in their own little railway where the signalman did not care what they did, unless they wanted to leave. Loco depots would normally only have one signal, the exit. More if there were more than one exit.

Morning all, I need some advice on Ground Signals please.

A = Where they would be.

B = Which way they would face.

Cheers.

Andrew

To be honest I suspect that the only signal on this plan would be for departures, all the points in the shed area would be hand operated.

You could either place a signal at A and have all points hand operated or possibly have a signal at B which would require the arrival/departure point to be controlled from the signalbox as well: -

The B option would also need a ground signal in the arrival direction I would guess, to stop locos running through he point.

I would expect the railway would go for option A, which would be the less complicated option.

Hope that is helpful, only my opinion so it may get shot down by someone with more experience.

Thanks Brian, if I go for anything it will be a Ground Signal at A for departure, but it wont be a working one anyway.

Cheers for your input.

Although West Shed will be at our Clubs Open Weekend on 12th 13th December I haven't decided what I'm running yet, I have the choice of BR / SR Steam, BR / WR Trasission, or BR Blue with Sound.

I may also have a couple of Show invites in the offing for 2016.
