Shall be looking forward to seeing the pictures. Might have a look at that ballast bond myself.

Check out the Video, there is also Ballast Magic as well which is a sort of Cassamite Powder you mix with the Dry Ballast before spreading on the Track, but that needs water.

Hi Martin,

I asked the same question when I saw these buildings  on West Shed - they are really brilliant ... George had 'just put them together' and decided that it would not fit on BS or whatever ... 'jammy!'

Peter

Edit - Andy - I forgot to mention the puddles - yes craftsmanship and really look good. PBB

Hi Andy,

I like this layout, the ballasting and puddles look great.

How well does your Std 5 run? I have been looking at one on ebay, Nice bullied pacifics I find the Hornby steam loco's seem to run better than the Bachmann.

Cheers Peter.

Hi Peter, AVEAGE I would say on a long run but the Hornby Std 4, (I must buy another) is loads better at slow speed and with the Tender Pick Ups a lot sweeter all round, out of choice I would say save your money for the Hornby, but a pity they don't do the Std 5 as well. I may well trade mine in for the Hornby one although I need the 5.

Thanks Andy,

I missed out on a Hornby std 4 on ebay the other week it went for $75.00 my Bachmann and old Mainline models stay in the display case as they just don't run well at all.

I might leave the std 5 for now, I shouldn't be buying steamers anyway.

Cheers Peter.

Morning Andy,

As you know from elsewhere, I've been a little crook for a few days and so just catching up. Apologies to you and your many followers for the rash of ratings.

Lovely work as ever mate, and how nice to see steam re-appearing on one of your layouts!

I noticed that you'd used the Peco inspection pits - quite a few people on RMweb have made a point about the difficulty of threading the code 75 rail through the chairs. Did you have any problems, and if so, how did you solve them? I hope to use them on the shed and as ash pits.

Keep up the good work, but I do worry that you are doing too much again!

Kind regards,

Jock.
