Final one today... another N Gauge Farish, this time an LMS Ivatt 2MT.

On the face of it, a very small model, but with a little effort you can get in a Zimo MX648 sound decoder and modified SugarCube.

The decoder goes in pretty easily after removing the factory 6pin socket board, but to get the SugarCube speaker in is a bit more work... only about 1.5mm of the enclosure walls can be retained - the whole flat top of the speaker's enclosure must be removed, relying on the tender body to give the seal over the top.

The speaker must sit about 1mm inside the depth of the tender base, or it won't clip on - a bit of repeated filing followed by test-fitting to get it exactly the right depth.

Sound great, and loud once done.  Still a light-weight model, but not much we can do about that without getting extremely tight in there!

Enjoy!

John
