George Hudson
I've always followed the Downes principle but might turn over a new leaf looking at some of those shops. Here's some minimalism from me.

nhdesigns
Just found this thread Currently doing a row of shops behind the station Station Shop 28.jpg Station Shop 27.jpg These are on'e around the market square Shops11.jpg Shops12.jpg Shops13.jpg Shops14.jpg Those are some nice buildings there. Those ones around the market square, are they scratchbuilt or kits? If they are kits who makes them? I'm kinda looking around at adding some additional shops for my layout.
vulcanbomber
They are all scratch built, if you look at Barkham Green layout you will see the Market Square being built http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/49278-barkham-green-gwr-oo-layout/page-3 You can also see progress on the station shops so far, although things have slowed down due to Holidays Gardening, looking after Grandchildren http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/105795-station-shops/

iL Dottore
I usually put an interior or two into my model buildings (even though - frequently - they can be barely be glimpsed through the windows of the finished model. Here are some examples: A model railway in an attic Pub Interiors: Halwil Signal Box Interiors: Laboratory Building Interior: Office Interior iD 6
TEAMYAKIMA
Not technically a OO/HO interior , but a sort of exterior interior ...... An open air street market ..... Edited May 25, 2017 by TEAMYAKIMA
monkeysarefun
Have you checked out John Otts website? He has created a model railroad (cos he's an American) based on the horror writings of H.P. Lovecraft, and his interior details are the quirkiest ever!: http://www.ottgalleries.com/Illumination.html The whole layout (and layout description on his site) is brilliant fun. Hands up who else has incorporated into their layout a cameo of the Thursday morning squid auction? Edited May 26, 2017 by monkeysarefun

nhdesigns
Does anyone know how or where I can get some items for specific shops? Things like DIY shops and bakery shops. Things like that are what I'm looking for to go into my shops. I got the scalescenes interiors kit and have put it to good use.

RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted January 28, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 28, 2019 Have a look at some of the military modelling websites as well. I have found all sorts of items including furniture and a complete bathroom.
Headmaster
I use a mixture of ways of showing interiors. This is the beginning of a conservatory, complete with grape vine and seated people. Michael Edited March 19, 2019 by Headmaster
Headmaster
Here is the completed hotel. Modelling all of the interiors would probably not be worth the time and effort for how much it could be seen. So I use photographs, which are backlit. Here is the hotel restaurant
