NorthBrit
Not around here. The old crows are a tough lot. The birds are not bad either.
RMweb Premium southern42 Posted July 8, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 8, 2021 Really quiet here, today, sun coming out, little wind. Click and collect later, although I wonder how long that will be made available with easing of lockdown measures. I find it quite helpful as, instead of ending up going to store several times a week, I now just have one order a week to think about! OK, it does have its drawbacks, but what doesn't? NorthBrit
Try shopping daily like the 'old days'. When rationing was on the go. A joint of meat lasted until Wednesday. Having money in your pocket. Never dealing with a bank. The list goes on and on. As Harold MacMillan said " You've never had it ---------------- so good."
choo1choo
Did you buy your haggis daily?......so fresh it ran round the field before you bludgeoned it to death with a bottle of McEwans.
NorthBrit
Sore point that. There was still some ale in the bottle.

RMweb Premium southern42 Posted July 12, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 12, 2021 Hairspray! Eeewch! Only tried it once and combed it straight out again! That was until I started using it on some layouts to stop the trees going bald.
NorthBrit
Dear me. We cannot have that. Bald trees need 'Miracle Gro'.

NorthBrit
Yes. (I bet you had to look up Troed-y-rhiw.) Then went back 'home' to the land of the former North British Railway.
choo1choo
Yep...you're right. Being an exile from Cornwall I didn't know where the bleep it was. Is it Haggis season yet or do you wait for the Glorious Twelfth?
NorthBrit
Heavens above. You are living in exile. I hope they treat you well (wherever it is). I cannot find that on the map. I shall relax, cook some haggis'n' neeps and have a glass of Oban smoky.
choo1choo
You find Carmarthen on the map...come East and South a bit down to the coast..and before you get to Burry Port is the ancient huddle of peasant's huts called Kidwelly. Famous for...uuumm.... Hope you enjoy a glass of Oban with your barbecued Mars Bars tonight.
