87023Velocity
Hi Cav, There was also 56011 in Redstripe, there is a picture of 56011 on Flickr passing through Burton working an MGR train, dated 1993. Cheers Simon
Marcus 37
Looking forward to seeing that. Don't forget Ethel with the tea trolley as well. HaHa.
RBE
Haha. I'm not sure the businesses are big enough to have a tea trolley service! Would make a nice cameo though. Yes I saw some pics of 56011 but I think I'll stick with 019.
Grimleygrid
Hi Cav, a very difficult decision! Now, whilst I agree that Red stripe Railfeight suited them very well, and 019 is a good choice, there are also other options to be considered! 011 kept RS into the early 90s 56011 Liverpool-Hereford charter @ Sutton Br Jn, Shrewsbury. This one was withdrawn later in early 90s and still wearing a very faded Original Railfreight livery! Toton TMD by Steve Clark, on Flickr Apologies, for also mentioning 011 when Simon had already posted. I must have been typing my reply when other messages were being posted! As for the 56, as there's no nose end numbers how about a different number on each side. Would then give you the option to switch the loco round in the fiddle yard when exhibiting and run back in the other direction with a different service. Just a thought. RBE
Actually yes. I do do that. My large logo 47 and my raifrieght 37 both have differing numbers each side.
RBE
I also like the idea of a blue 56. Incidently that one on the LWRT is on topic!
P.C.M
Hi Cav, Glad to op went well hope you are back to a 100% soon. I really like 56019. Was the Dutch livery about in your time period? A Dutch liv 56 would be nice. Cheers Peter.
87023Velocity
Dutch 56's were around in 1993, but I am sure they had been allocated to the southern region? Cheers Simon

Cheers Simon I think you're right the idea was to get ride of pairs of Cromptons on some of the heavier ballast workings though I don't remember seeing one before I left the UK. It's right on the end of Cavs timescale too so red Stripe gets my vote. Cheers Peter.
RBE
Dutch ones were interesting but a little late for my period I also need it to be a run of the mill workhorse for MGR and steel turns. The red stripe RF grey one seems a good bet.
Marcus 37
I need to dig out my old railway books but I'm sure I've got one of the old Jaynes Colour Albums with a picture of a RF Red stripe 56 with a rake of the colourful Bardon Aggregates hoppers passing through Burton. So Aggregates will be another flow you can use it on. It's certainly going to be a busy little engine.
RBE
Sounds good. I don't have any aggregate hoppers other than my RMC roadstone train but may be something I get in the future. I need so much stock for this layout it is untrue!!
RBE
Of course if I am doing 019 I will need some of these as Dapol strangely used the later UK diamond style grilles on their romanian model.
Marcus 37
They look nice. Very crisp for 2 mm scale. I can feel another master piece coming on here. As for the post about the stock required, I know the feeling. Luckily I've got a bit of a respite until Hattons ICI hoppers and Bachmanns RMC hoppers appear. RBE
Indeed. I still have my 15 RMC hopper to build amd paint yet. I also have to scratchbuild the kingsbury tanks and some NGS BDAs and engineers wagons! Thats besides building the layout and before I can even think of weathering up all the other stock I already have!

RBE
Nice grills, are they your own? Cheers Simon No they are TPM's. I could do some however they would be no better than these and cost me more to have done. I just hope that Bernard has some in stock. Cheers for those pics Paul, they look great. I'm pretty certain now that mine will be 019 (perhaps 011 on the other side). I am also going to add a replacement roof grille for the No 2 end to my 3D print shapeways shop as the later style one adopted by Dapol is a very odd decision and clearly wrong in more occations than it is right! cornish trains jez
The detailing that can be achieved in 2mm these days is quite simply amazing. Straight out the box, most newly tooled models are excellent, and the additional detailing that can be added, just enhances them even more.
