Adding the little details and possibly a new coupling system...

Last night I sat down and opened my two Hornby class 60's only to find the snowplows had fallen off of one of them and I still hadn't fitted any pipes to the front of the other so after discovering I would have to be attaching plastic dtailing to a metal chassis so out came the two part epoxy and these are the results.

After applying the details to the fronts of the locomotives I had to remove the couplings on the other end to add the snowploughs that had openings for the couplings. When it came to replacing the couplings I noticed in my box of couplings a few Bachmann knuckle couplings and a Kadee coupling and decided that I would like to try these couplings. I soon discovered the differences between the two manufacturers.

Below is the Bacmann coupling...

I put the Kadee coupling one of my class 37's and a Bachmann coupling in one of my wagons and then placed them on a flat surface and coupled them together.

I noticed that there is a drastic difference in the height of these couplings. Looking at the quality of both of these couplings I have decided in the near future I would like to purchase several more Kadee couplings for a full rake of wagons so that I can try them out to see how they handele.
