1F underway again
Greetings once more from sunny Bedford.
I had a day off to look after the grandsons today, so after I'd taken them on a train ride to Millbrook and for lunch at the Forest Centre near there, I took some time when they'd gone home to revisit my 1F project; which, as described elsewhere, has ( more or less) a body but no workings.
(I have also been working on writing very long sentences) .
Work today:
This shows the state of play with the little tank engine, with the chassis underway and the little gearbox. This will have plastic "cheeks" to insulate it from the frame sides, and has caused me a deal of perplexion this afto.
Needles to say, it has not gone quite to the original plan. One day I will see someone else build a chassis and it will all become clear!
This shows the undercart temporarily fixed under the body, to check clearances. So far so good, apparently.
A screw at front and back will attach it more securely one day.
Also arrived today my latest issue of MRS Journal, which is one of three regular magazines I receive, the others being MRJ and of course, the 2mm Magazine.
Some interesting Edwardian photos in this issue.
