Track Ordered!

AllScales

Right I finally decided to get on and do it...

Called Winco to order a pile ROCO HOe set-track, as this layout is too twisty and windy for Flex (at least for me).... It's going to be expensive, but I've been saving up for it (and have stopped gratuitously being things that take my fancy).

Meanwhile my garden layout (an eventual project) rolling stock has increased remarkably. In addition to the Deadwood Central Consolidation, I now have a log car, two box cars and a caboose (which says Santa Fe, but will be resprayed). On top of that an LGB Stainz and two coaches have now been safely stored, pending the construction of the actual track!

On another note a mate of mine mentioned he might be interested in building something British. Over a few pints we came up with an idea of building a reduced version of the Orpington, Cudham & Tatsfield Light Railway (One of the Colonel's projects that never saw the light of day), but as a narrow gauge railway/tramway and in O-16.5 scale instead.

I saw Hayesden in RM a long time ago and thought this was a very nice idea... (

) Living on the edge of Kent, and picking somewhere local would be sensible idea, even more so if the railway was never actually built. So no-one can say "Oh that signal box is in the wrong place, you should put it an inch to the left", or: "that loco never didn't arrive on that route for another 2 years"! Puh-lease (to use an Americanism).

So some consideration is being paid to that proposal, maybe build a few kits to get some idea of dimensions, buy some points etc...
