Following two years' procrastination after 'points failures' in the goods yard, I am restless to get on with the task of tearing up and relaying a fan of sidings.  The passenger station also needs finishing.

The first step, of course, is to make a list...

The first item took a day, just clearing and boxing the layout's scenery and stock.  I tried to capture the resulting atmosphere of a post-Beeching railway, but the scenery has been stripped off.

The skip is a homage to the wonderfully moribund 'Clackmannan Goods' by @Waveydavey - a lovely little detail.

The next three items on my list were more productive than the post's title and photographs suggest: the completion of the electrics for the passenger station on the viaduct above.  At last.  Tipped the layout up, drilled holes, stretched some wires and did a little cack-handed soldering, and then checked the trains ran in the right direction:

So far so good.  Here is 73 113 propelling the Director's Saloon, forming the first train under power to use the station: hurrah!  And the saloon lights work!

Sir Humphrey (barely visible), with added umbrella, stands gazing up the line, trying to ignore the devastation about him and feeling everyone else knows something he does not...

This is to be a longer posting about a discrete project, with future entries in 'Comments' I hope.  It will stop me cluttering the Blog lists with several entries.
