Valve gear fault fixed - a Bachman Hall

Back at the club (WMRA) spring open day I discovered that on my Bachmann Hall (6969 Wraysbury Hall) the R/h side connecting rod had somehow become disconnected at the wheel end. I finally got around to assessing the fault last week, discovered the circlip that should have been holding it on, wasn't there. I ordered a few replacement circlips from the Bachmann spares service which then arrived promptly. On the same order I added three sets of Manor tender wheels for another project. The service from Bachmann was very good.

Fixed the problem this evening, I only lost one of the tiny circlips. The trick or dodge of doing the fix inside a clear plastic bag helped minimise the losses as, despite several attempts to fix it not succeeding, only the one clip which pinged off managed to find and escape via the open end of the bag. The rest remaining trapped in the bag ready for another go. Not the easiest task to do, and it took many attempts to get the clip into place, but a couple of coffee stirrers cut to a wedge point eventually helped push the clip into position.  Small pliers then nipping it shut.

Only thing left to do, is put it onto the rolling road to test the fix. Won't be tonight as too many other things temporarily stored on the working area but on the to do list.IMG_0004.jpeg.5b2da8b2f4c2bee0c9e30b67e0251842.jpeg
