Let's start at the very beginning....

Little Sudford will be my first layout, so understandably I'm not going to be producing anything huge, nor will it be particularly quick progress!

A little bit of background for the layout:

Little Sudford is a fictional village nestled in the heart of east Anglia, set just south of Great Sudford, which is situated on a 'what could have been' line running north towards Ely, coming off the Great Eastern main line after Shenfield. Whilst it doesn't see much through traffic, it's used as a relief line for both the Great Eastern Main Line, and some traffic off the East Coast Main Line. It also sees a good amount of regional commuter trains, plus a small amount of freight.

The Black line is the 'new' line, with the red representing the current network.

Little Sudford is served by trains from the Midlands and Suffolk. Also present in the village is the Ladybird Heritage line, connected to the national network just outside of the station.

The original station has been taken over by this line, with the new NR station existing on what was originally a shed road.

The EMR trains that serve Little Sudford are purely an exercise in self-indulgence, and, assuming that I ever build Great Sudford, will probably terminate there instead.

In all honesty, I haven't given much thought to where the Ladybird line runs to - perhaps it runs towards Thaxted to link in with the old Great Eastern Line?
