"You're just wasting your time" Entry posted by Ian Morgan February 2, 2017 1,148 views Share
 Followers 1 Obvious quote from "Oh, Mr Porter" describes this morning's activity. Using some plastic card and some printouts from Scalescenes, I started on the interior of the Station Master's house: And what can you see once it is in place? 11
Western Star 1,210 Posted February 2, 2017 Not a lot... Sorry, that catchphrase was not heard in Buggleskelly recently, nor in Freshwater nor in Canford. Can you see more if the room is illuminated? Link to comment

RMweb Premium Ian Morgan 6,679 Posted February 2, 2017 RMweb Premium but the last photo shows off the brickwork detail nicely. Link to comment
RMweb Premium Ian Morgan 6,679 Posted February 2, 2017 RMweb Premium I wasn't planning to, because the curtains would be closed when the lights were on. Link to comment
Yorkshire Square 1,210 Posted February 2, 2017 The lights would be on and the curtains open on a dark autumn/winter/spring day... Link to comment
RMweb Gold Donw 18,539 Posted February 2, 2017 RMweb Gold The detail may not be clearly visible but something would show. I bet if you just sort mocked something up it wouldn't look quite right but that view of the mantlepiece with the clock on top is just the sort of detail that would be glimpsed through a window. Assuming that side will face the viewer of course. Lovely work. Don Link to comment
RMweb Premium Dave John 7,756 Posted February 3, 2017 RMweb Premium Oh, those are are gorgeous, I'd tell myself I was doing well in 4mm, in 2mm, top class modelmaking. Perhaps the bed needs a bolster and a pair of pillows ? Can't have a stationmaster with a bad back from a wrong sleeping posture .... I totally agree with adding details that you know are there but can't be seen. Really, have a shot at a 2mm scale "guzunder"...... Just because you can. Link to comment
RMweb Gold Mikkel 25,949 Posted February 3, 2017 RMweb Gold Very nice. Pretty stylish interior decoration too, and nicely subdued colouring of the furniture. I understand why you did it. It's a bit like lettering wagons on both sides for a shelf layout. You don't actually have to, but most of us still do it. It doesn't feel real otherwise. Link to comment
Tim V 5,774 Posted February 3, 2017 If you had fun doing it then yes it was worthwhile and don't let anyone tell you "you're wasting yer time" Link to comment
RMweb Gold bcnPete 5,050 Posted February 4, 2017 RMweb Gold Exactly, and when the lights would be on, the curtains would be closed. Maybe the lights are on, curtains are open but nobody's home Nice work Ian Link to comment
