NCE Switch8 and PSX incompatability?

I have set up a PSX-4 for track sections and all appeared to be fine, I then bought another PSX unit and attached my NCE Switch 8 and Tortoise point motors. These NCE Switch-8 units were working fine with the Lenz LZV100 and LH100. As soon as I installed the PSX the NCE Switch8 ceased working.

I set up on my test bench a new set of kit to see if the problem could be resolved but as soon as I put the PSX unit into the circuit the new Switch8 ceased working.

I reset the NCE Switch8 to no avail and then rechecked all the connections, it had appeared that the PSX unit had zapped the NCE Switch8.

As a result I will have to use the NCE Switch8s direct from the Lenz controller but that leaves me with 2 questions:

1/ is this a known problem?

2/ how can I get my now faulty Switch8s back into serviceable condition?

Try taking the PXX out of the circuit completely. It could be that it is too sensitive for the inrush of current
