Sproston - The signalbox named, some platelayers trollies and fencing.
This will be just a quick update, to make up for the lack of a blog entry for December.
The signalbox is no longer anonymous...Hurrah!! (thanks to Gaugemaster.com), a new namepate (Cooper-Craft) has been fitted to the front elevation, now only internal lighting remains to be completed. Two platelayers trollies have also appeared alongside it (Cooper-Craft) filling some of the empty space.
The Railway boundary on the layout has at last been tackled - 122 posts (Ratio GWR) painted and inserted at 1" intervals, but the hard part , fitting the 'easywire' to said posts will be tackled later, when I have taken some 'brave' pills!!
The goods yard now has a skew timber crossing on the goods shed road, to allow road vehicles to access the area around the crane for loading and unloading- this is made from the Wills barrow crossing kit, doubled in width as it only has to cross one line. The yard surface each side was ramped up using DAS clay, and then painted using a tester pot of grey paint from B&Q. The yard crane has moved slightly as a result of this exercise.
More 'clutter' is slowly appearing in the yard (oil drums, large boxes, crates and parcels)
I hope soon to have some GWR platform barrows,( Cooper-Craft again )and have just purchase an led lighting kit ( head and tail lights, plus internal coach) for my class 121 'bubblecar' (Hornby) from Black Cat Technologies Ltd. - another job for the future, along with painting and fitting some passengers, an internal repaint and correct destination blinds....
Comments are always welcome, Regards
