I was hoping to get all the brass work finished today. But every time I looked a picture I saw something else to add, and never got the parts done that came in the box.
I at least got the handrails and doors sorted out. I would of like one of the doors ajar, but the sides are very flimsy without them.
Also today I fitted the radiator filler pipes, most of the electrical conduit to the front. The rear lamp irons were also fitted, along with the one in the middle of the radiator.
I still need to do the front footplate ones, the conduit to the rear, and the ladders.
The cab roof ventilator has now been fitted, it went missing on the bench, but was found about ten minutes before I was going to make a new one. I also made and added some lifting eyes to the bonnet top, I am also looking to see if there are others too, but 1960's photos are not too clear.
I thought the lifting eyes could of been etched, along with the lamp irons which also needed making as the kit only had six GW style ones which are no good for this and not enough. I suppose I should not complain too much as the kit was very cheap, from a well known auction site.
The pictures!!
The first two are of the chassis that was camera shy last post. The crank pin nuts will be change to 12BA threaded out to 10BA when reassembled, it is just easier at this stage to use 10BA ones.
The front and roof details.
The rear showing progress so far
The sides to show handrails etc.
