Kids at my parents, did my duty round B&Q helping SWMBO spend too much money on bathroon fittings and fancy "feature" tiles so I earned a couple of hours modelling this afternoon.

400g of DAS clay applied to the hardcore. It does not look it but there should be just enough clay left to finish the job as there's a big area under the loading dock for the goods shed that will not see the light of day, so I won't waste clay on that bit!

Think I'll hand paint the turnout

Looking good Ian.

I've got some areas that will require DAS applying but I was just going to put down the DAS directly.

Have you stuck down the "HARDCORE" then applied the DAS over the top and is the reason for the "HARDCORE" only to reduce the amount of DAS required?

Thanks

EDIT I just Read your other blog entry saying YOU DID STICK DOWN THE HARDCORE.

I must get up tp speed with reading these Blogs correctly.

Barnaby, yes to both questions :) I'm following the advice given to me by Chris Nevard who uses the stuff all the time. The ballast gives a good key to the clay and seems to mitigate against cracking and should help it stick to the layout. The fact that it also means less clay as well is a bonus ;)

No Pete, silly boy, you know I never talk cobblers
